EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO CLOSE YOUR POOL
It has often been said that all good things must come to an end. And for most of us, the swimming season is no exception. In order to ensure a joyful spring pool opening next year, use Doheny’s Winter Closing Kit. Since pools are not normally used in the winter months, the water is not filtered, circulated, or sanitized, making it easy for algae to grow and for stains to develop. Our Non-Chlorine Kits come complete with everything you need to close your pool and protect your liner or plaster walls from stains or fading.
With four size options, for up to 7,500 gallons, 15,000 gallons, and 35,000 gallons, and Doheny’s 35,000 gallons professional sanitation closing kit, our kits can accommodate smaller to larger pools. Each kit contains a high-quality Winter Guard or Metal Free Pro, Metal Out or Metal Pro, slow-dissolving and time released Winter Oxidizing tablets, specifically-formulated, non-chlorinated Oxi-Shock and our complete winterizing instruction guide.
SIMPLE STEPS TO USE DOHENY’S WINTER CLOSING KIT
First and foremost, before using the winter closing kit, make sure the pool is thoroughly cleaned, properly balanced and clear of all algae growth, dirt and leaves!
- Stop chlorination 24 hours prior to winterization.
- Pour the entire bottle of Doheny’s® Winter Guard 8, 16, or 35 into the pool, making sure the product is evenly distributed around the entire pool.
- Pour the entire bottle of Doheny’s® Metal Out into the pool, also making sure the product is evenly distributed.
- Wait 15 minutes and then slowly broadcast all packages of Doheny’s® Chlorine Free Oxidizing Shock around the perimeter of the pool.
- Allow pump to circulate for at least one hour to ensure that all chemicals disperse evenly.
- Lower water level and drain lines, pump, filter, and heater of all water according to manufacturer’s instructions. If you use pool antifreeze, add it to your plumbing at this time.
- Punch holes in ALL dimples located on both sides of the floating dispenser.
- Cover pool with a Winter Cover. Doheny’s offers top-quality Solid and Mesh type pool covers.
NEXT SPRING
- Remove water and debris from cover using a siphon or submersible pump. Then remove the cover, reconnect all plumbing, raise water, and discard winterizing floating dispenser.
- Add Doheny’s® Pool Master Start-Up Kit, following directions, to your pool. Start your swimming season with sparkling, clean water.
