  • How do I replace my existing pump with a Super Pump?

    ..Read through this entire process before taking a crack at this one. Shut off the power at the breaker and confirm that the power is OFF. Open the back of your existing pump and remove the wires that are coming into the pump and the conduit connector that is screwed into the motor. Using a hacksaw, cut the pipe coming in and going out of the existing pump, but leave some pipe to glue on a coupling. Remove the existing pump and position your new Super Pump. Exciting!

    ..You may need to raise up your new Super Pump to meet the incoming pipe. Mate up the incoming and outgoing pipes and use Teflon tape on threaded fittings and PVC glue on pipe fittings.

    Check for an air leak in the suction piping that could be causing a rumbling noise in the pump. Check for cavitation caused by an obstructed or undersized suction line or unrestricted discharge line. If practical, throttle the discharge line or correct the suction line. Check for vibration due to improper mounting. Check for foreign material in the pump housing. Check the motor bearings for rust, wear or continual overheating.
